John Deere Self Propeled Forage Harvester Information Evening
On the night of April 27th Windmill Ag Meeniyan held an information evening about the John Deere Self Propeled Forage Harvester. Ken Curtis, a forage harvester specialist from John Deere America came along with all of his knowledge about these machines. It turned out to be quiet an informative night with a large group of harvester owners and operators learning that there is a great machine on offer from John Deere at a very competitive price. There was a John Deere 7550 Harvester on display that both Ken Curtis and Russell Mountjoy, a John Deere Harvester owner from Bears Lagoon, pulled apart to demonstrate just how easy these machines are to maintain.
All in all the night was very successful evening with some great food eaten followed by a few beers, but more then anything it was a great chance for the Meeniyan team to spend some time with a top bunch of people.

John Deere's New and Improved Round Baler
John Deere's new model Round Balers are avliable for forward order from your local John Deere Dealer Windmill Ag now for the 2010 Hay and Silage season. This baler comes with a large range of new and improved features.
Most of the new range will come with gull wing doors that open up from a top hinge to improve ease of mainenance and give a more modern rounded appearance.
Bale density will be improved by up to 15%, due to a larger diameter density cylinder and increased oil pressure up to 275 bars unstead of 225 bars in previous models. This means a saving in the amount of net wrap used, but also savings in time and fuel during bale handling processes.
The driveline capacity has also been increased in the premium models with a new 113kw gearbox. This is a power increase of 14% on the previous 592 premium model, allowing you to bale that little bit faster. This can also be optioned up to a 136kw gearbox.
John Deere have introduced a drop floor system on the rotor feeder pick-ups this provides a faster unplugging device than other competitors in the market and drop floor concept gives you a smarter method than the rotor reverser and reduced plugging frequency thanks to a smoother crop flow.
Knives selection in the Maxicut range is improved with Maxicut 14, depending on customers needs, length of harvested crops can be easily adjusted. With the flick of a lever you can modify which 7 knives you cut with or you can use all 14 knives for a finer cut. The new Maxicut 25 has come with an aggressive new knife shape which allows the cut closer to the rotor and gives options on crop cut of 12, 13 or 25 knives in use at any 1 time.
